PREMABLOCK shunt units are manufactured
in more than 50 basic configurations (DN20 - DN250,
with or without built-in heat exchangers etc.). In addition,
PREMA manufactures shunt units which, due to special
requirements regarding operating pressure, operating
temperature and functional performance, call for special
care when choosing materials, mountings, insulations
etc. and thus need to be tailor made.
The PIPE PLANT is made of all-welded
steel pipes of type St35.8/1 (pressure vessel steel).
The shunt units can also be delivered with pipes in
other materials e.g. stainless steel and copper (see
options and extra equipment). In heating applications,
the pipe plant is primed two times with black paint.
In cooling applications, it is painted two times with
corrosioninhibiting colour. No surface treatment is
carried out on pipes in stainless steel and copper.

FITTINGS are always mounted with flanges. In the case where a check valve is used, it is mounted between flanges in order to facilitate inspection.

HEAT EXCHANGES in shunt units
are also mounted mechanically with couplings or flanges.

CIRCULATING PUMPS are always mounted outside the insulation cover, in order to facilitate inspection and maintenance, as well as to improve cooling of the pump motor and thus increase the service life of the pump. Shunt units for cooling are equipped with a corrosion-proof drop panel, which is mounted between the flanges on the pump and those on the shunt unit. The drop panel collects condensation water. lt is equipped with an R10 tap in the bottom for connection to the floor drain pipe. Please note that this pipe is not included in PREMA's delivery.Pump supplier may be chosen freely.

REVERSIBILITY, due to the symmetrical configuration, is one important feature of the PREMABLOCK shunt units and it dramatically reduces the risk of faulty orders. All shunt units have the same appearance on the front and the rear side, including measurement well pipes and information labels. lf not specified otherwise, the shunt unit is delivered with the control valve mounted on the right-hand side (configuration - right). In case reversing of the shunt unit is required after delivery, the only adjustment needed is a 180° turn of the flanged fittings and the pump.

NATURAL CIRCULATION is effectively prevented, in both cooling and heating shunt units, by the design of the piping. Also thermal conduction in the pipe material between the primary and secondary circuit is reduced to a minimum.

THERMOMETERS with a temperature interval of 0 - 120°C for heating and -30 - +50°C for cooling, are delivered as standard. Angle thermometers and digital thermometers are optional

DRAIN VALVES are placed in all high and low positions When a valve is placed in a high position it works as an airing device

CONNECTIONS are ended with cut-off valves and regutating valves, which are mounted on flanges. Shunt units ended with flanges are always delivered with mounted counter flanges.
